Why on earth has Cloud Net bothered to change it’s name to Cloudnet. Read on..
Cloud Net becomes Cloudnet
Cloudnet wants to make it absolutely clear that it has no connection to any other company that thinks it owns the word “cloud”. Cloudnet is a fiercely independent company which has no relation to any other company in telecoms. We don’t think we own the word cloud which we think is a term referring to internet based computing resources.
To completely clarify this position we are changing our full name to Cloudnet Telecommunications Ltd. All other details regarding the company remain the same.
Cloudnet has taken this decision unilaterally having tried unsuccessfully to discuss the position with a company who are called “The Cloud Networks Ltd” who were threatening to start court action because of what they perceived to be a possible misunderstanding on behalf of potential customers. Whilst we believe it extremely improbable that anyone could confuse a massive wifi provider with a telephone services company with different names we don’t wish to allow a scintilla of doubt in any ones mind that we are completely different.
Cloudnet is also taking this opportunity to change it’s name in order to prevent any future misunderstandings which may arise with other large companies who also may conclude they also own the word “cloud”.
