BT Local Business Average Sale Reaches £8K

BT Local Businesses have been partially funded by BT to use AI software in their search for more sales.

Artesian Solutions, who are a major AI driven sales prospecting software company, say in their 13 August 2018 press release that the product  allows BT Local Business to use AI driven data collection to discover everything they need to know about a prospect, company or industry sector. It enables them to find out more about a target company, reference financial records and explore company contacts in one consolidated view. BT has integrated the Artesian solution with the existing investment in Salesforce CRM.

They claim that BT Local Business, has delivered a 26x return on investment in just 12 months – with £6.4 million in new revenue achieved in just 12 months. This implies that BT Local Business has invested £246K in the product. Artesian’s off the peg product costs just over a £1K a year per user. Which would imply that BT local businesses have taken more than 246 licences which given that there are about 42 BT local businesses means that their average spend is just on £5,000 each – however one would expect a more competitive deal would have been struck.

Artesian further claim that the £6.4m was built up of 793 sales – that is an average sales value of just over £8,000 per sale. To sell that amount with a single sale is impressive. It does mean that there is a reserve of customers who are spending really large sums on communications. What are these guys buying?

The press release claims that “BT Local Businesses for the first time have gained an in-depth understanding of their pipeline, allowing them to act quickly on opportunities, anticipate needs, and engage proactively in more sophisticated ways based on a real understanding of trends, sentiments and needs. In addition, they had the opportunity to improve productivity by replacing manual research with automated insight, data gathering and filtering.”
